I get it man, I get it. This place is no longer what it used to be. I'll adapt. The owner will be able to monetize it without any fear from my racism.

It's just fucking boring everywhere. My wife posted a stupid MEME on Facebook about a certain politician in India and in 10 minutes got a "warning" from FB for "promoting harmful extremism". A meme. That made fun about a certain stupid decision by a politician not even in the USA. It wasn't even an Indian page. Just her own.

I've always found in these sorts of situations in the past that finding some kind of common ground is important, and there has to be something somewhere. I would like @Denny Crane to stick around. Life should be about love, not hate. We need something here that can unite us, not divide us. That being said, I will offer something up for discussion that I think a lot of people can agree upon. Hear, Hear.

At the start, TNG recycled old TOS ideas before eventually becoming its own show--that was amazing in the 80s & 90s and fairly cringeworthy/boring now. VOY took unused TNG scripts and crossed out all the names and pencilled in new ones. ENT took old VOY scripts, crossed out the relevant words and pencilled in new ones.

The woke agenda is extreme and probably not gonna go anywhere, I'm a live and let live kinda guy with very little hate in my heart for any group(at least that's how I like to view myself) but I still get sideways looks and tuts from the woke brigade when talking on race or gay topics and I think to myself what did I even say?

Its far too left for me, but the other side of the same coin is the right is far too right, basically all I've learn from listening and watching politics is extremes don't really work no matter what side of the court you are on, life in a lot of ways is about balance.

You know when it went too far for me? Cancelling history by taking down statues like the Taliban or something. And the Confederate flag. The Confederate flag isn't about slavery. Maybe that's part of its origin, but by the late 1970s, it's "Smokey & The Bandit," "The Dukes of Hazzard," Lynrd Skynrd and Alabama albums. Is it in poor taste? Maybe, but is poor taste illegal? I see people at the supermarket in pajamas and Crocs every day. I had something else but I forget what it was, but I'll close with my last point, that actually ties back with the topic of the thread: "Retarded." When did retarded become a swear worse than "fuck," on par with "cunt" or "######"? It used to be a technical, clinical, medical term. And there needs to be a way to describe Wordforge posters.

Oh, and back to the statues for a bit. Once they got all the Confederate generals down, then George Washington and Abraham fucking Lincoln were offensive and needed to be erased. Teddy Roosevelt--creater of the National Park system, trust buster and champion of the common man. Hell, it got so bad in Portland that I see they even took down a statue of an elk because they figured the antifa crowd would somehow find offense with it.
 
...having to change the Dire Straits song because now you can't say "faggot"--even in a song where the character saying it is being portrayed as backwards and ignorant.

That ilk completely lost me at this point as well, if they hadn't before. Sorry chaps and chapettes, trying to erase or sanitize history is never a good idea. I don't care who's offended by it.

I'm pretty much in the same place. I'm neither right nor left, at least not in any sort of extreme. But then you have all these "pick a side, you're either with us or you're against us" clowns. Bitch, please. It ain't a fucking football game, lives are at stake. Blindly follow the lemmings off a cliff if you want, I'll just continue doing my own thing and practicing at least a modicum of critical thought. Which is another lost art, btw.
