The Sound Of Music...
What an awesome treat, from the one on one conversation of Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer, to the reunion of all 7 Von Trapp "children", to the Sing-A-Long and commentaries. They all blow the 1994 release to smithereens.
The best feature of this excellent DVD is the new video transfer. They finally fixed the tinting problem, and the picture is crystal clear.
The only supplement I miss from the original is the documentary, The Sound Of Music: From Fact To Phenomenon. A lot of the people interviewed for that video have since passed (Ernie Lehman and Robert Wise, for example). It would have been nice for the documentary to be included in this package, if for nothing else than a homage. Oh, well.
This one's definitely a must see.
