A cigar

Does it matter what end I smoke? It was given to me and the end was clipped, will it even matter which end I light?

I don't think I will smoke it anyway, just had a sudden urge and knew I had this cigar in my desk drawer.

The person that gave it to me said I should throw it out anyway, it is too old.

If it's too old, you probably don't want to smoke it. Stale cigars are nasty.

FYI, you drag on the clipped end and light the totally open end. For better freshness it's recommended that you light it using a non-windproof wood match that has burnt for one or two seconds after striking. I also recommend drinking a glass of brandy or scotch, as they both add a good aged smokey quality to the taste of the tobacco.

If the end had already been clipped before you even got it, throw it away. It's a cheap one.
Plus: there are better things to do with a cigar than smoking it, anyway. Or so I've heard.

I have some cigars. Don't smoke too often so probably wait until the music festival I'm going to in October to smoke them.
