TV All Things SNL

I am scared to click on those links.
just kidding
I'll watch them.

What would be the strangest country to host or have an SNL show?
Woo! It's Asian Mike Myers!

What would be the strangest country to host or have an SNL show?
The USA.

This looks like it's gonna be a good one this week...

Connor Storrie was literally still waiting tables a year ago, and thanks to Heated Rivalry, he's hosting SNL this week. That has to be some kind of record...

It was a good one, all due to the host. The written sketches were hit or miss, but maybe the best one was the last one of the night, and Connor helped write it, since it's based on a character he used to do in his clowning days.

His energy was infectious. I've never seen someone so happy to be there in a long time. And he squeezed every last drop out of it.

His Heated Rivalry co-star Hudson Williams showed up for an appearance. Crowd went crazy of course.

I have yet to watch all of SNL from Saturday. Thank you for the update Eggs! I saw such positive reviews in all of the comments on yt even, I was surprised.

The sketch was cut from the live show, so people only know about it because they posted the dress rehearsal version on YouTube.

Contextually it's not lampooning Tourette's, it's just using the BAFTAs moment to satrize canceled celebrities (some of whom have appeared on SNL) who try to paint themselves as victims. Its overall taste level can be debated, but I think it was pretty effective, and technically it wasn't making light of the disease, but that nuance has escaped some.

I think if people just read the description they think it's kind of suggesting that John Davidson has been faking Tourette's for the last 35 years (or wheneer he became famous) just so that he could use a racial slur at the BATFAs eventually. I made the mistake of looking at Twitter after the incident and there were a lot of ignorant "OH so he JUST HAPPENS to have Tourette's when black people are around!?!?!?" type comments.

South Park did the same kind of joke as the SNL years ago, also making it clear of course that Cartman is just faking it because he's a horrible person and Tourette's is a real thing.

Just announced: Peacock in the US will air SNL UK next-day. Woo hoo!

I don't have much to say about the Ryan Gosling episode, not much was memorable other than Harry Styles being in his monologue, and Gorillaz performing live 25 years after their debut and still sounding fierce.
