Use the

button in Quick Reply (thank you Hambil!), and when you paste the link in between, get rid of everything in the URL except the video code after the "=" sign.

It used to work even if you put in the full URL, but that was years ago. Who knows what's changed. It's on my list, but not especially important if you know what I mean. I will get to it eventually.
