I strongly suggest upgrading your mobo to PCI-E compatible.
You can get an Asus A8N-E for relativley cheap and they are wicked mobo's. I have one myself. Of course it depends on your processor and if it has a 939 socket.
AGP cards are on their way out now, they just can't deliver the bandwith required these days. So my reccomendation is to upgrade to PCI-E and get a GeForce 6800GTX.
If you cannot be deterred and have no intention of upgrading to PCI-E at the moment then I guess a 7800GS for Nvidia or a X850PE if you want to go with ATI are the best AGP cards avaliable at the moment.
