The cup has started, and Germany scored within 7 minutes, with a cracking goal. Costa Rica have just equalised through Wanchope (who played here in Blighty for a number of years).

12 minutes gone, 5 shots on goal - gonna be a good game if it stays like that.
 
Are there any germans on the forum? I hope not, because all my liberal nicey nicey stuff goes out of the way when it comes to them.

I have been stuck in a hot room with 8 germans watching them beat the Dutch. It wasn't pretty and I am scarred for life
 
Cracking match. 4-2, with loads of open, attacking footy. It helped that both teams had poo defences. Frings finished off with a belter, that will probably be goal of the tourney.

I thought Poland would have been more positive than this. The Poles are supporting their team well. Poland are unusually flat, but then Ecuador are really fighting hard. This group is going to be a canter for Germany at this rate.

Ok, just caught the recap on the Ger Cac game. Holy fucking shit! Now THAT was great football! I rewound the goals a few times to make sure that I really saw what I did. The first and the last goals of the game were incredible. And that one from Frings that he made from damn near midfield! If you watch the replay at normal speed it comes off of his foot in a blur. When it reaches the goal it seems to be suspended and almost floating into the back of the net.

And, sorry England fans. You're not getting Rooney until after the groups. I'm somewhat disappointed. I wanted to see what he had to offer in groups. Now, I've gotta wait for the final 16 to see what he's got. Besides, England is going to be in tough shape without one of their star players. I hope you limeys manage to do well, though. I want to see England in full action.

Oui. Both Costa Rica goals offside! Costa Rica crap team do not belong in World Cup. FIFA should send to home Costa Rica. Is team only have ball in German zone for 5 minutes total. All rest of game ball is in Costa Rica zone. Bad news have crap team like that play in World Cup. Send home immediatement!
