Hi there. I'm not going to post with my real nick at Wordforge. Why should I? The inner circle has a habit of ostracizing people who don't march to their tune. This place is supposed to be a free speech board, but some of the people posting here should know better than to just say what they mean without some anonymity protecting them.

It comes back to bite you.

There is alot going on there which people don't know about. You have no idea how much the staff trips over itself trying to fix the mistakes other [staff] members make.

Certain people who aren't let's just say, assets to the circle and who are liabilities when it comes to public relations with the proles are let go. Others aren't. Listy for instance, is an asset, so no matter how badly he messes up he will never be let go. Same with Tamar. Uncle Albert has special protection too, and I don't mean his retard helmet.

I can get used to this free speech thing.

I think Listkkeeper is being this way on purpose, as a distraction. Afterall, now everybody is so busy hating on him that they've forgotten the original reason they were disgruntled.

That's something I could never stand for, as he's supposed to be an authority. It's bad enough when that kind of shit goes on here.

Well, then, since this is essentially the 18th thread on this topic and it's probably going to be mostly ignored, perhaps someone could take the time to explain to me why there's such a general hatred among Wordforgians for TK. I've been trying to figure it out for years and have never gotten a rational explanation. Speak slowly, use diagrams where necessary, as I'm kind of drunk at the moment.

Note: This does not include the WFers who've been here forever, like Anc, Gul, Tamar, MarkB, etc.

Speaking for myself...I just dislike most of the threads that seem like spam. The first time I came here two years ago, the first thread I came across was one entitled "GAGH's A NIGGER LOVER!!!!!" Having just recently come over from TBBS and being black, that didn't exactly leave a great impression with me.

I came back a year later and found that the board isn't AS bad as everyone made it out to be, but for the most part, I don't get the appeal.

That said...I don't get it, either, no more than I understand the obsession a few have here for bashing WF.

Shrug, beats me! Maybe because it's held up as this bogeyman whenever people complain about creeping authoritarianism.

Thanks. It's not general hatred so much as taking advantage of a punching bag, if you don't mind me calling TK that. I was into the same group think until I started lurking. It's easygoing when it's not spam everywhere.

I get the impression at times that the "damage control" elements of Wordforge prefer to keep people in the dark about TK. Why do you think so many dramas have unfolded here? Because outside of Wordforge a staff member can't capriciously interpret a rule to lock down on threads they deem to be disruptive. Disruptive to the assholes in ivory towers, that is.

All that's just my theory. The general population is just indifferent out of ignorance.
 
Speaking personally, hatred might be a bit of a strong word. It's just that this board has, in the past, done nothing for me. A lot of it is the spam and -gasp!- trolling(!), some of it is just the functionality--I've gotten used to my array of smilies to use for inflection, some of the little hacks and features WF has that either TK lacks or are implemented differently--the comfort factor. Finally, I don't know a lot of people over here, so I'd have to figure out the dynamics and relationships all over again--and I think this is more of a challenge due, again to the flavor of the board. It's a lot easier to know people over at WF because there is less perception that anything you say can be used against you.

Oh. And really, really finally, it seems like a lot of the time your most, um, special members are the ones that we see because they come over and grace us with their company. That creates the perception that the quality of posting at TK falls somewhere between gay porn and North Las Vegas.
 
It seems to me that for the most part we're just siblings that hate each other, all Children of Lisa, as it were. And now Children of T'Bonz. Wait, that's a fucked up thought.
