Babylon 5: The Road Home

I am currently watching Babylon 5 for the first time ever, along with Stargate SG1 (I was such a Trek elitist back in the day), and I absolutely LOVE them both. B5 is so good. So it will be a while before I get to this, but it's on the list.
I need to re-watch Babylon 5 before I watch this. My advice start watching it from the first season. My first time I started from Season 3 and had to go back and watch the first 2 seasons later. If you have time, there are also like 2-3 B5 movies and a one season Rangers spin off.

I watched the original pilot/movie, The Gathering, despite knowing that there were a lot of changes between it and the actual first episode of the show. I'm currently only in season 2 of the show proper, but I have enjoyed it greatly so far. It's extremely well written, and the slow-burning arc of the series is super interesting.

Aslo, G'kar and Londo are absolute mad lads.

I don't know where you're up to, but if you're already impressed at this juncture, you're in for a hell of a ride. Things are about the heat up ...

I'll definitely check this out. Hearing Peter Jurasik as Londo again? Yes please. Seeing Deleen again minus Mira though ... ouch. :(

And Andreas, and Richard, and Jerry, and ... ugh.

Just a heads-up... you should probably skip the Season 4 finale until after you finish Season 5. B5 was initially cancelled at the end of Season 4, only to be hastily renewed for a 5th season, so Season 4's finale is kind of a... distant finale.

Meh. Just watch it in order. It is what it is.

Can't get excited by the trailer. Somehow it seems like trying to do "E.T. 2" or something. Even with JMS involved, it feels like tacking something on to something that was nicely wrapped up. The LotR prequel, for example. And somehow, my brain has shifted to where animated is like the straight to video version of live action. I know none of that is logical, but it's the way I'm feeling.

As far as the original series, it would be neat to see it get the "Star Trek: Remastered" treatment, although probably not as rewarding, because all the FX shots were already fairly neat. You could certainly make them look less CGI with modern tech, but that wouldn't add that much and might actually be more jarring, since you can't really change the physical sets and costuming.

As far as SG-1. That one, the producers started running out of things to do and kept wanting to do the Star Trek model and move to a series of films, so from about Season 4 they keep setting up the season finale in a way that lends to moving to feature films and then MGM just renewing the series because it was a cash cow so they have to extend the storyline for another season. For me, the story ends with the big battle over Antarctica. The show loses me after that so I just pretend that's the finale. [EDIT] And interestingly, for as much as I loved the show when it was on, it just isn't as rewatchable for me as classic 'Trek. Dunno why.
