British Prime Minister Tony Blair has relaunched the debate on multiculturalism with a speech in Downing street. Sprinkled with phrases like "the right to be different the duty to integrate", it announced a series of measures to promote the latter:
"Our tolerance is part of what makes Britain Britain - so conform to it, or don't come here. We don't want the hate mongers, whatever their race, religion or creed. If you come here lawfully, we welcome you, if you are permitted to stay here permanently, you become a equal member of our community and you become one of us", he said.
However it seems for at least some the clarity of the message is not immediately evident:
"The right to be different, the duty to integrate, I think, that is a contradiction to itself and I don't really understand what Blair is trying to point out by saying that", said one young muslim.
Others have a bleaker view. Here multiculturalism seems more like lines being drawn:
"You cannot force people to accept your ideas and ideology and I have the right to hate your beliefs and I have a right to hate your ideology and what your are doing in the name of your ideology, and to call you to my ideology" said this radical Islamist.
The Muslim Association of Britain called the Blair speech "alarming". Blair also said it was "common sense" that anyone in the public sphere, like a teacher, remove a veil when communicating.
Why does such a majority of the Muslim community insist on being such complete retards?
