BLOCKBUSTER online....The Perfect Rental Solution??

I'm beginning to think so...its 18 bucks a month for three dvd's...unlimited returns, no late fees...but if there's a Blockbuster near you, you can bring the mailer in to them, they'll mail it in for you on the spot, and you get a free movie (for two nights) while waiting for the next three to arrive on the cue.

I've burned through 30 dvd's in two weeks with them already. Pretty perfect.

I'm more of a netflix man personally. They just lowered my plan of 2 dvd's at a time to 13.99 a month and it had been 14.99 a month.

The bride and I just tried out Tivo/Amazon Unbox.

You get a new release for about four bucks and you keep it for up to thirty days. Once you start watching it, however, you've only got access to it for twenty-four hours.

This isn't a bad option, in that we can just stay home, but we don't have DVD quality this way.

The BEST rental solution we've found thus far (Tried BB Online, tried Netflix) is Redbox kiosks. They have some at a few local supermarkets. New releases at one buck for two days, and a dollar each day the movie is late.

You pick your movie from a computer screen, swipe your card, and you're done. Then you return it to the kiosk when you're done.

I gotta say, their latest ad is pretty clever. Guy and cute next door neighbor get home from work and check their mail at the same time. She mentions something about wanting to see some chick flick and the guy holds up a Blockbuster Online envelope and says "you mean THIS movie?" Cute girl invites him over to watch it.

As she walks into her place, we see the guy is actually holding a copy of "Alien -vs- Predator". So our hero buggers off to the neighborhood Blockbuster, swaps AvP out for the chick flick, runs back home and gets the girl. :lol:
