Bunnies!

All I see in those pictures is potential stew material. All they need is some carrots, potatoes, and a nice base stock to swim in for three or four hours. ;)

Now that I think of it you could shave them and market their fur as some kind of expensive wool. I mean people buy dog fur scarves.

Fucking show rabbits, who'da thunk it. Back when I owned VitaFlex, we sold vitamins for show pigs, and I thought that was off the scale, but this......

This is groteque.

It turns out my wife KNOWS the lady in GTC's link and her (my wife's) mom used to raise those kinds of rabbits, too. They only weigh about 7-8 lbs.

Now I know the rest of the story.

Dear gods! They look like giant powder-puffs with noses.

Can you imagine if humans started breeding for specific traits? Like hairless, or smushed-in noses, or long ears...

They already have. notice how H Erectus, H Ergaster, and Neanderthal have left the fossil record. Bunnies may be the link that turns Intellegent design into total caca. As it happens, Bunnies and humans are on the same evolutionary limb, from the superorder known as Euarchontglires. We're on the Archonta branch and Bunnies are on the Glires branch. Primates came out of an early placental called tree shrew, wich also begat the squirels. the earliest primate, Lemur ( I have one) came about 68 million ya, predating the mass extinction of the dinosaurs by 3 million years. Lemurs are designed to live amongst dinos. ( climbers with stero scopic vision. They hide in the trees, out of reach of T Rex) From lemurs came monkeys and then the great Apes, Gorillas and Chimps. About this time, some of the dinos were developing furry feathers, and were evolving into the great Raptors. hominids did not adapt to this and almost went extinct, because their young, were the favored food of the Raptors.

Bunnies are on the Glires branch and are occupying the old niche left by the lemurs. They did not arrive until 40 million ya, well after the Great Extinction. Bunnies are designed to live among raptors, ergo they burrow, thus reducing hand evolution. Their eyes are to the side, but they are able to see above, and behind by rolling their eyes. For a grazing animal, they are remarkably intelligent. As being the choice of predators, they are very playful, a mark of intelligence. The point being, what if, 68 million ya, Glires developed and Archonta-primates did not come along until 40 million ya? What if it were reversed. What would " Humans" be like?
