Shifty sumbitch
For the last year I’ve been a member here at TK, some interesting things have happened. Unorthodox, promoter of free speech, unmoderated—these were the high points.
Coincidentally, many fellow LoNAFites posted here as well, bringing in some familiarity for me to this board.
Knowing this familiarity would help, I dove in, first in mocking Jillian after banning her from LoNAF, then watching with amused interest when jack and ComicCon arrived.
Yet… it didn’t last.
Of all the events to make things change, I wouldn’t be able to say, though I’m sure those from Trek would say it began with TK’s birth.
Unfortunately, I know where TK’s decline began for me: Features unique to the board were yanked from abuse and features to make the board more mainstream with others were added.
How these features differed though was that they were used to enact a passive moderation, an attempt to reign in a board meant to be free.
On top of that, were the many rampant duals and prepubescent ilk parading through the forums, taking away any chance for civil discourse; taking away any fun to be had.
Now TK’s at a crisis point, though it won’t be admitted.
Killed—and gone—are the desires to post from major posters, like Gagh and mentalist—they may linger a little still, but the string has drawn taut, and slowly break, strand by strand.
Yes, the time has come to issue TK’s moratorium; this is my final post here.
Signed,
Lilac
