Took my friend Emma today, shared an office with her for years, never saw her without a smile, she was a pleasure to work with, and fun on a night out. She already fought and won against this fucking deaease three times, but it was determined to take her.

Not going to lie, this has hit me hard.

I'm so sorry for your loss. When it takes someone close to you, it's a hit for sure.

My family gathered at my sister's house for Thanksgiving this week, and we watched old home movies, which featured our parents, both now passed. I lost my mom to cancer, she was diagnosed in March and passed just after New Years, 28 years ago. Seeing the old movies and being together was a comfort, something I think we all needed.

Cancer and death are shitty things to deal with, especially at the holidays. I know you are not alone. Sorry about your grief.

As some of you know I worked for 11 years in the local stop smoking team, for years I just shared offices with stop smoking specialists and admin, then one day I was told dental would be coming to join me in my office, as someone who hates change I was worried what it would be like, but Emma and her team couldn't have been nicer.

We had lots of laughs in the office and even more on nights out.

Even before I knew her she had already beaten cancer once, and fought it off another two times while I knew her, never once losing her smile, her sense of fun.

The last time I saw her I wanted to hug her but didn't, always going to regret that now.
