Each week starts on a Thursday with the Head of Household competiton and evictee nominations. The HoH is the one who nominates two houseguests for eviction. There is a swanky HoH suite upstairs that is custom-decorated and filled with the person's favorite snack foods, and some pictures and momentos from family and friends.
On Friday there is the Power of Veto competition, where HGs compete for a medal and the power to switch one of the nominees. The nominees also get to play to try and save themselves (or to keep themselves nominated to ensure the other nominee is evicted, if there's a conspiracy afoot).
On Saturday there's a Food Competition, to see how the pantry is going to be stocked for the week. Some will be able to eat whatever's there, and some of the losers will have to eat what is known as Slop, an oatmeal-ish kind of porridge that is apparently is nutritious but not too pleasant. People usually don't forget a houseguest who caused them to go on Slop for a week...
On Sunday/Monday the winner of the POV competition holds a meeting and announces whether or not a switch is to be made to the nominees.
Tuesday there are some live interviews on TV, and everyone spends Tuesday and Wednesday buzzing, conspiring, and campaigning each other about who to vote to evict. Which brings us to Thursday, where someone is evicted and a new HoH competition is held, completing the cycle.
There are one-hour shows on Thursday, Sunday and Tuesday. The Thursday one is the only true "live" one with the eviction, HoH competition, and new nominations. The other two have live interviews with the HGs but are otherwise filled with all the other taped competitions, plus whatever juicy moments in the house there are to show.
