lol, fair enough.
btw, I was joking when I made my first post, and only slightly cynical when I made the second, but on serious reflection (bear with me, it'll only last a minute):
NOW I have to wait 12-16 weeks for security to clear my application for a Passport;
NOW I have to arrive three bloody hours before my flight leaves if I want to visit my friend in the exotic city of Minneapolis;
NOW, inspite of my big blue eyes, blonde hair, place of birth in an area not known for growing Arabs, [nor likely to be sympathetic to any either], and decided Celtic name, I still have to remove my boots (LL BEANS for irony's sake!), submit to my luggage being searched, and submit to my person being wanded.
AND I had to defend my carrying a water bottle around with me. (They made me drink from it - presumably that was a pre-emptive move in case it was a liquid bomb.....);
so actually, the terrorists have won, if making an entire society paranoid and fearful - to wit, terrorized - was the goal.
