Case of the Missing Dr_Dave

Mirah

I love you
I remember Mirah, she was quite slender and nice, but she had broad shoulders unlike most women I met. Her nose was slightly upturned and she had nice almond shaped eyes, or so she was told. Her hair was long and dark but she recently cut it off. The cut suited her just fine, but she missed her long hair.
She met Dr_Dave in a bowling alley one evening. It was very loud and she couldn't hear what he was saying and she kept saying, "What?" which annoyed him, but he didn't actually mind.
Dr_Dave was tall and handsome and he had a nice smile. Mirah was quite attracted to him but she kept her lustful thoughts to herself.
Mirah finished her final drink when Dr_Dave said, "We should go outside and talk, I can't even hear myself think!"
"What?!" She asked,"You want another drink?"
"NO!" Dr_Dave yelled, but it was too late, Mirah had already ordered him and herself another round.

P.S.
Since this story sucks so far, read this one instead and let me know what you think of the format. I really enjoyed it.
It is called The Black Box by Jennifer Egan

People rarely look the way you expect them to, even when you’ve seen pictures.

The first thirty seconds in a person’s presence are the most important.

If you’re having trouble perceiving and projecting, focus on projecting.

Just then Cassie walked into the bowling alley and said, "Time to boogie!" and the lights went out and the disco ball turned on and everyone started dancing, except Dr_Dave, he thought Cassie had said, "Find my boogie!" and went next door to the bread factory to investigate. Mirah was obviously pretty schnockered by this time and did not notice Dr_Dave's absence.
