He'll probably get away with it, though. There's no direct proof that the guy he punched died. Someone else entirely - who didn't confess to it in their autobiography - could've killed the guy.

And if the police show him a dead body (well, photos of a dead body I would imagine) and say "is this the guy you killed?" he could just say "no!"
 
They will do what they do with any murderer who they can't convict for a long ago killing: find some other crime to charge him with and over-sentence him for that.

OJ, Robert Durst, Al Capone, etc.
