Yesterday I shorted 10,000 shares of Countrywide Finance (CFC) in the $25.90's. Countrywide is in big trouble with their mortgages. Lots of subprime and ARMs. They got clipped pretty good today as I was trolling the Yahoo CFC board. I doubled my pleasure and doubled my fun doing this!

I already have some, been touting that for years now. I will buy more during the crash because hedge funds will be liquidating theirs to cover redemptions from investors who want out. This short position will make me more money to buy more with.

Today at the start of trading the longs (people who own the shares and want them to increase in value) were all giddy as the price went up to $22.50. The mood quickly turned as the stock faded and near the end of the day one long was insisting that it would close over $20 and that in itself would be a victory but that wasnt to be realised because it closed under $20.
