Converting to DVD

Anyone know any good shareware.

Specifically converting .avi or .mkv to a DVD format?

Even a reputable shareware site, as I dont install much.

Any help appreciated.

I don't do much of this sort of thing, but when I do I've been using ConvertXtoDVD

It's lightweight, simple to use, makes a nice clean copy and it's pretty fast. Unfortunately, it's not freeware, but if you don't have any qualms about cracked software you can find it easily enough via Bittorrent.

I just had a time converting/burning .flv to DVD. I started with this helpful link and then stumbled my way into a completed product. I will list the thingiemabobies I used; from ScorpionKing's useful advice and beyond.

After all that Scorpion King stuff, I looked at this thread and downloaded Super(c)

To burn this to DVD I downloaded DVD Flick

I then attempted to burn both my .avi and my .mpg to my DVD but the .avi wouldn't code? The mpg worked fine though. I've never had an easy time with .avi but now I can convert them thank goodness.

Does anyone know how to convert PAL .avi to NTSC w/o those skips?
