Diamond Club signs star chef

January 2006 was a month of great signings for Arsenal and it also included acquiring one of the hottest talents in the gastronomical game, Raymond Blanc, who will join the Club in March 2006. Two Michelin starred Blanc - who is a keen Gunners fan - will be Chef Director for the restaurant at Diamond Club - the most luxurious offering in football - at Emirates Stadium.

Blanc, in partnership with Delaware North, will oversee the cuisine and design for the restaurant at Diamond Club — the exclusive members’ facility that will offer an unprecedented range of prestigious benefits from a selection of the world’s finest brands including Le Manoir Aux Quat’ Saisons, Ritz and Jaeger-LeCoultre. Diamond Club members will enjoy a private lounge and an elegant restaurant and bar, serving complimentary food and wine throughout the day. Additional benefits will include valet parking and a private concierge service from Quintessentially. Members will also have the option of travelling to European away games on the players’ plane for a level of service never before achieved in football.

Blanc has achieved worldwide status as a culinary genius with a relentless drive for perfection. This prodigious talent is showcased at Le Manoir Aux Quat’ Saisons in Oxfordshire, which has retained two Michelin Stars for 25 years. His sense of adventure is reflected in his new role at Arsenal; under Blanc’s direction, the Diamond Club will aim for an extravagant food experience, offering modern and traditional dishes cooked with typical flair and a focus on fresh, seasonal and organic produce.

Commenting on his involvement with Arsenal’s Diamond Club, Blanc said: "Food is my greatest passion in life, but football, and Arsenal in particular comes a close second. The vision for Diamond Club is inspiring, adding a new dimension to the Arsenal experience. When I was approached about this project there was no question of my not being involved. My Club, football and great food in an elegant restaurant is a combination I previously could only have dreamed of."

Club announces beer and cider deal

Arsenal Football Club is delighted to announce it has signed a significant, long term agreement with Scottish & Newcastle UK Ltd that will see the company installed as the exclusive supplier of beer and cider at the new Emirates Stadium from the start of the inaugural 2006/07 season.

S&N UK will enjoy exclusive rights to supply a portfolio of market-leading beer and cider brands — including Foster's, Kronenbourg 1664, John Smith’s and Strongbow - at all Arsenal matches and other events staged at Emirates Stadium.

The agreement will incorporate the sale and distribution of beer and cider via supporter concourses and corporate entertaining areas, including Executive Boxes, Club Level and Diamond Club and advertising on the 450 TV screens sited throughout those areas.

Emirates Stadium will feature an innovative beer system. A ‘Glycol’ cooling process will control the temperature of the beer so that the beer will be consistently served at the refreshingly cool two degrees centigrade. And a revolutionary fast pour, multi dispense system will ensure that supporters spend less time queuing for drinks. Combined with the S&N UK portfolio, this system will provide Arsenal fans the best environment to enjoy a drink both before and after Arsenal games.

Adrian Ford, Commercial Director at Arsenal said “S&N is the leading brewer and cider producer in the UK and having their range of top-selling brands on tap will provide something for all fans. The ‘Glycol’ system is new to the UK market and we will be the first club in Europe to benefit from the product.

"We are looking forward to working with Scottish & Newcastle UK to provide supporters with quality brands served in the best possible condition using this state-of-the —art dispense system.â€

S & N UK sales director Lawson Mountstevens said: “We are delighted to be teaming up with Arsenal as the club enters one of the most exciting phases in its rich, long history. The Emirates Stadium will provide an excellent showcase for our unrivalled range of beer and cider and we look forward to Gunners' fans toasting their team’s success with our market-leading brands fromnext season.â€
