file name: /etc/fstab

NEWER than swap file!

(1) Another program may be editing the same file.
If this is the case, be careful not to end up with two
different instances of the same file when making changes.
Quit, or continue with caution.

(2) An edit session for this file crashed.
If this is the case, use ":recover" or "vim -r /etc/fstab"
to recover the changes (see ":help recovery").
If you did this already, delete the swap file "/etc/.fstab.swp"
to avoid this message.

Swap file "/etc/.fstab.swp" already exists!
[O]pen Read-Only, (E)dit anyway, (R)ecover, (Q)uit, (A)bort, (D)elete it:

-B Force printing of non-printable characters (as defined by
ctype(3) and current locale settings) in file names as \xxx,
where xxx is the numeric value of the character in octal.

-C Force multi-column output; this is the default when output is to
a terminal.

-F Display a slash (`/') immediately after each pathname that is a
directory, an asterisk (`*') after each that is executable, an at
sign (`@') after each symbolic link, an equals sign (`=') after
each socket, a percent sign (`%') after each whiteout, and a ver-
tical bar (`|') after each that is a FIFO.

-G Enable colorized output. This option is equivalent to defining
CLICOLOR in the environment. (See below.)

-H Symbolic links on the command line are followed. This option is
assumed if none of the -F, -d, or -l options are specified.

-L If argument is a symbolic link, list the file or directory the
link references rather than the link itself.

-P If argument is a symbolic link, list the link itself rather than
the object the link references. This option cancels the -H and
-L options.

-R Recursively list subdirectories encountered.

-S Sort files by size

-T When used with the -l (lowercase letter ``ell'') option, display
complete time information for the file, including month, day,
hour, minute, second, and year.

-W Display whiteouts when scanning directories.

-a Include directory entries whose names begin with a dot (.).

-b As -B, but use C escape codes whenever possible.

-c Use time when file status was last changed for sorting or print-
ing.

Smilies
'Smilies' are small graphical images that can be used to convey an emotion or feeling. If you have used email or internet chat, you are likely familiar with the smilie concept. Certain standard strings are automatically converted into smilies. Try twisting your head on one side if you do not 'get' smilies; using a bit of imagination should reveal a face of some description.

If you want to disable smilies in a post that you make, you can select the 'Disable Smilies' option when posting. This is particularly useful if you are posting program code and you do not want ;) converted to a smilie face!
