"Cyberbullying"

I'm going to assume, maybe rashly, that the actual "bullying" is done IRL; If you fuck with someone online, and then directly at school, or if you say shit online that affects his RL, that's actionable. But if this kid committed suicide purely from "virtual" abuse, that's another story.

These folks might learn a thing or two here at TK where, in spite of occasional statements to the contrary, there are boundaries on this sort of thing.

What would you tell them?

In the event online bullying created or aggravated RL bullying, I'd tell them they suck balls as parents and should have done something about the RL abuse, and it's their fault.

If not, I'd tell them to get themselves admitted to a psych ward and that if their kid was that thin-skinned, it was their fault.

It was RL bullying that then drove into online
"At the end of the day this wasn't just a problem in Ryan's school."
^^implying that the problem originated in RL. This could have happened

I'm already teaching my kids about online security, behaviour and ability to LOL at small minded people.
