The road to Oklahoma City begins May 19. NCAA softball is getting its time to shine over the next three weeks. By June 9, only one team will be left standing as champion of the NCAA Women's College World Series. Will Oklahoma, who are 51-1 win it all for a third consecutive year? If not, it will have to do something it hasn't done since February — lose.

The road to the 2023 Women's College World Series begins this week with regional play, and No. 1 seed Oklahoma is seeking its fifth WCWS championship since 2016. We break down the 64-team field and provide you updates with the schedule, scores and how to watch the NCAA tournament.

The 2022 college softball season ended with another dominant performance with Oklahoma winning the 40th DI softball national championship in two games against Texas. It gave the Sooners their sixth title in program history, third-most of any program since the first championship game in 1982.

Oklahoma (55-1) tied Arizona's all-time Division I record of 47 straight wins -- set in 1997. The Sooners seek to break the record Saturday in Game 2 of the best-of-three series with Clemson (49-11).

College Softball: WCWS schedule, how to watch, NCAA scores


The WCWS championship series is set, and for Oklahoma to three-peat atop the college softball world, the Sooners will have to do it against a familiar foe. The No. 1-ranked Sooners will face No. 3 Florida State in a best-of-three championship series beginning Wednesday night at USA Softball Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City.

Oklahoma takes Game 1 of WCWS as Bahl shuts down Florida State


Oklahoma All-American Jordy Bahl continued her dominance in the pitcher's circle with a complete-game shutout as the Sooners beat Florida State 5-0 in Game 1 of the Women's College World Series championship series on Wednesday night. Bahl extended her scoreless streak during the WCWS to 21⅔ innings, which is the most since Fresno State's Amanda Scott in 1998. Bahl allowed only two hits and struck out 10 batters in seven innings. She improved to 22-1 on the season with a 0.92 ERA.

Oklahoma tops Florida State for third straight NCAA softball title


Oklahoma's historic run through the softball season culminated with a 3-1 win over Florida State and a third straight national championship Thursday night. It was the Sooners' NCAA-record 53rd consecutive victory. They became the first team to win back-to-back-to-back titles since UCLA in 1990. This is the Sooners' sixth championship in the last 10 years and seventh overall. Only UCLA (12) and Arizona (8) have more championships. The last time the Sooners lost was 109 days ago on Feb. 19. During their 53-game winning streak, they rattled off 23 wins versus ranked opponents and posted an overall run differential of +371. This season, they set a program record with 35 shutouts, and never trailed by more than 3 runs at any point.
