Doctor Thorne

All In With The Nuts
Bit of silliness, but ALISON BRIE!

Julian Fellowes isn't really that great a writer sometimes. (Actually the direction is more odd than the screenplay so far)

Seeing Tom Hollander play a beleagured old man just makes me feel old. Fuck.

I'd say something about IAN MCSHANE OMG but I didn't really watch Deadwood.

My mum watched it, but she doesn't know who Alison Brie is so I couldn't really say "WATCH OUT FOR ALISON BRIE."

Well that was...okay.

I can see why Julian Fellowes was attracted to the story, because it's about people with money, and nice people without money who deserve money, and all of a sudden someone rich-but-not-nice dies and VOILA, the nice people get money and everyone's problems are solved.

To Julian Fellowes, that passes for "dramatic conflict", as several Downton Abbey storylines were based on this same setup.

This was a bit of silliness. But ALSION BRIE was nice, and since she played an American heiress she didn't have to be subjected to scrutiny for any attempts at a British dialect LOL.

My mum gave up on it.

Did Alison Brie get laid?
The short answer is "no, BUT..."

She rejected every suitor thst came across her path throughout the story, but at the end, she began speaking in a friendly way with Doctor Thorne at Mary & Frank's wedding...SO WHO KNOWS! (They end up together in everyone's imagination)

Did she fit into it well? I've not really seen her in any dramatic roles.

You never saw Mad Men?

She blended in fine, because ahe played an American, and because it was a period piece, her mannered ways were just as belaboredly mannered as everyone else's lol.

No, my dad worked in advertising and I've given him not one, but two copies of the first season, hoping we could watch it together, but so far it hasn't taken. He keeps letting me know I've left one of my "films" at his house.
