I've got a thread, but it's clear & obvious that you need more than one of your own. So indeed, this one is all yours.

Well, Wacky, first and foremost, the main difference between Star Trek and the German Star Trek is the fact that in the latter, ALL CHARACTERS SPEAK GERMAN. EVEN CHEKOV! (But with a really bad, fake Russian accent.)

Good point. But why did he have an accent, and Sulu didn't? Was Sulu's first language English?

Oh, ok, so I gotta dig deeper...lemme see....

Did you know that the first airing of TOS in German TV happened after the series had already been canceled/ended in the US? The first episode aired on May 27th, 1972. I guess they needed 3 years to find a German able to speak German with a Russian accent.

LOL, yeah, and since his parents were Lithuanian*, the slavik accent might have been quite easy for him, too.

*I googled that. I am not a Trekkie. Yet.

He has Lithuanian roots? I'm surprised he's not over here working on a building site & stabbing his fellow countrymen in the early hours of the morning.

HEY, WATCH WHAT YOU'RE SAYING THERE MATE! I HAVE LITHUANIAN ROOTS, TOO!!! I AM GOING TO COME OVER THERE AND BUST YOUR LITTLE ASS IF YOU CONTINUE BADMOUTHING MY FELLOW COUNTRYMEN!!

Just kidding. I can't afford the ticket right now, anyway.
