It also lends a metric tonne (yes, when preceded by "metric" it's spelled tonne) of weight to Holocaust skepticism. People don't get imprisoned for saying things that are incorrect, they get imprisoned for saying things that are dangerous to those in power.
 
This shit is funny. They're arguing over fucking semantics, not free speech.

His five years are wasted for nothing. He won't become a martyr, or truth-seeker. He'll probably die silenced in prison. Such is the depth of the conspiracy.
 
The fact remains that he's in prison for speaking an opinion people don't like. That's going to wake a lot of people up. It won't be the stuff of Jerry Bruckheimer action flicks, certainly; more likely it'll sit at the back of peoples' minds and be a contributing factor to the thing that eventually does cause the everyman to blow up, lose his cool and take iron to the streets.

His "crime" was committed in Canada via his company Samisdat Publishing -- before Canada adopted thoughtcrime, er, hate crime legislation -- and the major issue has been with a web site started by his wife in Tennessee. He never published a thing in Germany on the subject, and had left Germany before he ever started publishing. He didn't go back to Germany until INS deported him for missing an appointment they didn't bother to inform him he was to attend, then Canada deported him to Germany based on evidence that was withheld from his attorneys on the ludicrous claim that he was a threat to Canada's national security.

In a nutshell: He was railroaded.
 
More fools they that put him there. As an object of ridicule, he would have faded. As a martyr, they will have made him immortal and his cause sterling.
 
He's not a martyr though. No one even cares about his passion. Skinhead culture has already been labeled and compartmentalized, I'm afraid. Any facet of it absorbs the taint, unfortunately for you folks. :D
