So why the sudden scramble to reduce the number of forums? Just look at the board. Activity is down all over and the new registration process has killed board growth.

Congratulations EI you’re on a sinking ship.

Last year it was create and separate.

This year... make everything compact. Hide those slow forums...
 
Well, it might also be a shrinking staff situation. Merging forums enables them to keep staff numbers at the present level or even reduce Staff.
 
The same three mods are in charge of The Beach, The Boardwalk, and Welcomes & Birthdays so that wouldn't apply to them. I can't remember who was in charge of the Personal Finance forum though but I assume their still on staff anyway.
 
Meh, the Personal Finance and Sports forums are pretty much dead. And Welcomes and Birthdays have been all too often overlooked. Maybe I'm just getting old, but I really don't care much about this. Personally, I see no reason to have a Personal Finance forum on a SCIENCE FICTION MB in the first place, especially with such a large teen/very early twenty something membership.
 
The dead "Industry Insider Updates" forum,
should be folded into some other active forum.
It looks very pathetic with only a few current theads.
 
I know!! They should fold up the Sports Bar and the Financial Forum into with Industry Insiders! Fold gently just like you would egg whites in an angel food cake, otherwise, the fluffy egos could go poof. :-)
