Faith and the Common Man

I’ve never understood how God could expect His creatures to pick the one true religion by faith—it strikes me as a sloppy way to run a universe.

How is one to decide which of the myriad of theologies doing a free floating ballet out there is the real deal?

You don't. For most people it's all a matter of which one they get suckered into following.

Satan is actually God, and God is actually Satan.

It's just that Satan (God) has a really good slur machine - like republicans.

"God split himself into a myriad of parts that he might have friends."

This may not be true, but it sounds good - and is no sillier than any other theology.

Actually, god is a women and the universe is one colossal joke.

At least that's what my grandfather used to say when things got really fucked up. :P

God is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnibenevolent--it says so right here in the label. If you have a mind capable of believing all three of these divine attributes simultaneously, I have a wonderful bargain for you. No checks, please. Cash, and in small bills.

While my intelligence has often been questioned at TK, I'm not that stupid. ;)
The test of a first-rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposed ideas in the mind at the same time.

Why don't you give my challenge a fair shot? ;)
