FIFA World cup 2022 thread

I do wish it was 2022, as this sounds like it's going to be the most public shambles in history. Hopefully, by popular support, England will choose not to take part.

They will do that, of course, Dr Dave. What the league teams don't like is when their million(s) of invested dollars (aka the property/ player) gets injured playing for his country and then can't play for them when football season starts up again. But they have to go along with it because the players consider it an honour to represent their country, naturally. I thought I read somewhere that FIFA will try and get compensation from countries if the contract players get hurt playing for the Cup, but I don't have any sources to back that up with.

I feel like I heard they would compensate the teams in some fashion as well, but I could be wrong.
