beer, I want beer
What happened to my original thread? No matter. When I close all my fire fox windows and then try to re open FF, I get an error message the the fox is still running and that I will have to reboot. Why?

It's a glitch. Ctrl-Alt-Del, and pull up the Windows Task Manager. Open the tab marked "Processes," and look to see if Firefox.exe is still running. Highlight it, click end process, close the Task Manager, and see if it will start.

You also might want to reinstall FF.

I've reinstalled a couple of times. It seems to be an issue with 1.5.0.1. At work, I'm still running an earlier build, and this never happens.

It never happened to me until I up graded. I may have to reinstall. Shesh, this is monotonous.

The odd thing is that it never happens when I'm using Linux.

I'm working on that. Just downloaded Ubuntu, and I'm going to reformat my extra hard drive and install it.

Wish me luck.

If 1.5.0.1 is the latest build, why do I see extensions that are compatible with 1.6?

Oh. Okay. Firefox 1.6a1 is still a beta known by the code-name "Deer Park". Which I'm using right now.

I am such a fuckin' geek.

ROFL!

I gone and uninstalled Netscape and decided to only use Firefox and Explorer.

Is this a wise move?

I use all 3 on the PC, and all 3 plus Safari on the Mac.

Can't have too many accounts...er, windows open at once, I say...

As for Firefox, I'm still running 1.0.7. I upgraded to 1.5 and it fucked up all over the place. I'll wait till 1.6 or higher is out of beta...

Post AOL takeover Netscape sucks.

Firefox, with the proper extensions, should solve all of your internet needs.

^Cool, what about Opera is it something I should look into?

I have Opera on the Linux install I did last night. I haven't tried to use it yet.

There was something on the Ubuntu forums called "Automatix," which downloaded a crapload of stuff onto my computer, and seems to have made it possible to do almost everything I was doing in windows, save for the wireless problem.

I'll let you know about Opera.

I run 90% firefox but (shocker) some MSN sites give me a hard time so I still use IE for certain applications (like my timecard at work).

I'm seriously thinking about switching to Linux. I have XP with the service pack so I never know which one to get.

Not a big deal to just run IE for those sites that require it, but that FF extension will let you open IE-centric pages in a tab. Just FYI.
