FIREWIRE CARD!

Ok, so I took the cover off my Dell, easily installed the FireWire card (it's an Adaptec "FireConnect FireWire 1394 PCI Card") pretty easily, screwed everything back together, re-connected the computer, starter her up annnnd...

NOTHING. No auto-detection of new hardware, just nothin'. Did I not install it correctly? I'm pretty sure the damned thing was well-seated in the only available slot. I mean, it screwed in.

the cd that came with the card? All it has is ADOBE READER!! I'll check the adaptec website, though, dunno why I didn't think of that. Thanks.

UPDATE: Got it working this morning. The card just wasn't completely seated in the PCI slot. Soon as I booted up, it recognized the card, and when I plugged in the camcorder, that was recognized as well. I actually transfered a tape to my computer this morning, and it's burning while I'm at work. EASY.
