From the window, to the wall

The dad didn't seem to mind his son hearing the song's lyrics and the son was so into whatever he was doing on his phone (game or texting) that he didn't appear to notice what was going on around him. The women were laughing in embarassment, and some of the men just smiled. Reminded me of that show "What Would You Do?" where they set up some interesting situations and film people's reactions and what they would do or not do.

Perhaps coffee houses + younger people/students = liberal "live and let live" attitudes. I wonder what would happen if he had an older crowd, or even a more mixed age level crowd and how people would then react to his risque lyrics.

Not too much audience appreciation for his efforts. . .or maybe more of his target audience just didn't pay attention to him.

^That requires both effort and enthusiasm. Something I'm completely lacking for another acoustic guitar-toting tenor vocalist indie-hipster kid.

I find him mildly interesting. The scenes set in his videos has me curious. I'm also a big fan of Bonnie Raitt.

Is he somebody's toy? He'd have to shave all over to get into Glee.

Gave it a listen, but I'm still not feeling it. His voice is like too many voices you hear: nice, pleasant but nothing remarkable.

I guess I like folk music if that is what this is. OMG I do not want to admit that outloud! Just kidding, who cares? I don't! I like it!
Enk, what kind of music do you like then?

I like all kinds of music from classical to opera, music from different eras from the 20s to the present day, some metal, some rap, ethnic music (belly dancing music), solo instramentals (just drums, just horns), bluegrass, not too crazy about country western. I just don't like most folk music, but I'm willing to try new music and I usually need more examples before I decide it's not for me.

What do you like?

I like coffee house music. I like downtown sidewalk music. I like living room music. I like garage band music. I like Big Band, and full orchestra, and brass with orchestra, and fully ramped electric music too. God made music for me.

True. God gave rock 'n roll to me. However, he made music in general for me because he knew I was coming and I'd like that stuff.

I refuse to believe that Sigur Ross is a gift from God. That guy's music sucks donkey balls.

Seriously, there's not enough weed in the world that will make this good.

Les Misérables at the beach? Maybe it was background music for a movie not meant to be the main theme. But as a stand alone - it made my ears itch.

I think there is a depth to this song that is not capable of being translated into a language we can understand. Perhaps we should mash it up with the song in Donovan's signature to give it context. Donovan's signature song says "Jump" and those kids did. They passed through the Lost wormhole and landed up on the beach, dead, as part of somebody's dream.
