Emmys are given out over 3 nights now -- the Creative Arts Emmys is spread over 2 nights this weekend (featuring all the awards that never make the main show), and the Primetime Emmy Awards (with all the "big important" awards and the red carpet, etc.) will happen next Sunday night.
And edited version of the Creative Arts Emmys will air next Saturday, the night before the main show.
Several Mine Field shows have taken home trophies so far -- the 2nd night of the Creative awards will happen later this evening:
Creative Arts Emmys: ‘Game Of Thrones’, ‘Assassination Of Gianni Versace’ Lead Night 1 Winners – Full List
Most notable: GLOW has won two so far; the Star Trek episode of Black Mirror won Best TV Movie; Game of Thrones is winning everything else.
Also, the Star Trek franchise received an honorary award:
‘Star Trek’s William Shatner & Sonequa Martin-Green Accept Governors Award With Members From All Six Series – Emmys
Representatives from each show took the stage to accept, led by Shater and Sonequa. As usual, DS9 got shortchanged -- Terry Farrell was the DS9 rep, and didn't get to talk much. Also, where is she is this photo?
Tonight's awards will focus more on variety, documentary and reality... which means more posthumous awards for Anthony Bourdain, and hopefully lots of trophies for RuPaul's Drag Race YAAAS HENNY!
