The 90's catchphrase was "downsize" - job cuts were deep to improve the bottom line for corporate raiders and stock investors; outsourcing to Mexico rampant. Yeah. The 90's were those good ol' touchy, feely days - warm, caring, compassionate, put the little guy over the corporate fat cats. BS.

I joined a small business in 1993 which grew to 10 times its size by 2000.
Then things started to slide, until I was finally laid off in 2006 with my boss owing me half a year's salary.
The only other time I experienced a layoff from such a downturn was in 1990-91.

I'm fucking counting the seconds till Jan. 20th, no matter who wins.

You must have been doing pretty good before the "downturn" to be able to work for the guy for 1/2 a year without pay. Somebody doesn't pay me and I've got to get another job pronto or start dipping into my savings, cash in my bonds, sell my stocks, take the hit on my 401k. At least that is what I had to do because the 8 years of Clinton taking from me to give to someone else left me barely treading water and when he took my job and gave it to someone else, well, that just outright sucked.
Regardless of who wins, the next 4 years are still going to suck because it has very little to do with who is president and more with what kind of society we are.
