Love Child

One Love
Leviticus 20:9
If anyone curses his father or mother, he must be put to death. He has cursed his father or his mother and his blood will be on his own head.
Leviticus 20:10
If a man commits adultery with another man's wife-with the wife of his neighbor-both the adulterer and the adulteress must be put to death.
Leviticus 20:11
If a man sleeps with his father's wife, he has dishonored his father. Both the man and the woman must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.
Leviticus 20:12
If a man sleeps with his daughter-in-law, both of them must be put to death. What they have done is a perversion; their blood will be on their own heads.
Leviticus 20:13
If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have down what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.

But wait! There is more!
Bestiality, sleeping with a mother and daughter, sibling sex, family sex and sleeping with a woman on her period.

Are these really the passages that people use to say that being gay is a sin?

Are these really the passages that people use to say that being gay is a sin?

No, its the deluded that slam ghey's using whatever scriptures they like to do so.

From what ive seen, which by no means is extensive & im no pro in this stuff, but in my short time of exposure to religious systems & faith commited peeps V's religious commited peeps; sin, in whatever form, has more to do with the judgements of men than it does with the judgements of God.
God's made his position known & deals with each individual, individually.
What one person experiences as a blockage to their call from the great spirit, is not the same as another & it may also change from time to time.
This @ first seems illogical & contradictory when looking at the surface; yet it makes complete sense when individuality is considered.

I've seen many gay christians walk in their calling with amazing stuff happening which glorifies their God.
I've seen many straight christians who strive & struggle to walk in their call, with the amazing which glorifies their God, proving entirely elusive.
From these experiences, I don't think being gay has anything to do with one's standing with their God & the calling they have received.

Also many people don't have a God nor are they called to one, making any of this stuff entirely irrelevant.

If there is a God, he doesn't give a fuck about your genitals, is my guess.

I practice pre-marital sex, but am worried what God says about me sleeping with a woman!!!!!!!!!!! LOL.

I wear women's clothing occaisonally, I don't think God approves of that either. The Bible can be a real Debbie Downer. Probably why I haven't read it in years.

Women having sex together is tantamount to foreplay. If a man and a woman did the things lesbians do to each other and you asked the man if he'd had sex with the woman he'd say no.

God made some commandments.
Jesus made some rules himself.
Man made the rules about who not to have sex with.

^ in support of those statements:

MOST of the sexual and marital rules in the Christian tradition (and hence onto the Protestant traditions) were put into place by Paul, who never even met Christ, who was previously a member of a very Zealous religious order, who never married, and quite possibly died a Virgin. The guy was a prude.

As for does Leviticus and Deuteronomy apply...well...most of those rules were to prepare the Jews for close contact with the people they would eventually have to integrate with (or wipe out) in the promised land. Practices such as homosexuality, bestiality, and temple-based prostitution were all prevalent in the worship of the various local gods in the area. Most of these prohibitions were in place to keep the Jews apart and away from corrupting worship. Much of the rest in the ways of laws were in place to keep discipline in the traveling camp (These two books were written by Moses during the "40 years in the dessert") while the Jews migrated to the promised land. Respect for Authority, Order, and self-discipline were necessary to keep the people together and cohesive so that they could fight when they got to the end of their journey. These traditions and laws had to hold them together as a people well enough that they'd be effective militarily when they found their land of milk and honey (regardless of the OTHER people who were there first).

There are several areas where Christ takes the old Jewish laws and changes them, particularly the dietary restrictions ("It is not what goes into the man that defiles him, but what comes OUT of the man that defiles him") and much of the old laws. By then the Jews had been in Israel for thousands of years, the old purposes were no longer served. I can go deeper into this if you wish.

Paul had a problem with the homosexuals, the polygamists, and the swingers. Not Christ.
