Goddamned fucking son of a bitch

Conchaga

Let's fuck some shit up
If I wanted to watch a bunch of guys dancing around like faggots, I'd go to the fucking ballet. Or, I'd go to watch the US men's team get their asses handed to them by the Czech's.

What a shitty game. The US was just giving the Czech team the ball whenever the Czechs wanted. Horrible show by the mids. They weren't passing the ball to the strikers when it was needed. Then, the strikers in their desperation were missing the simplest opportunities.

I stopped watching the game after the third goal was scored.

I'm so pissed at the US team right now. They can do a lot better than that.

The players are only half-interested because our country isn't interested at all. You've got the Stanley Cup Finals, the NBA finals, and baseball is heating up. Oh, and a little golf tournament, The U.S. Open starts on Thursday.

Soccer will almost certainly always be an afterthought in the U.S., at least as a spectator sport.

The US isn't interested because we didn't invent it.
Think about it, we sucked at the World's sports, so we invented our own.

Egotistical little snobby brats aren't we?

^^That's not true at all. We didn't invent basketball or Hockey, but our United States leagues are the best.

The problem is we have so many different professional sports, all of our elite athletes are scattered among them. I mean, if you grow up in Brazil, you're pretty much limited to playing footie, at least on a professional level. In the United states, you can play baseball, basketball, hockey, golf, etc.

I mean if Allen Iverson and Derek Jeter and Donovan McNabb and Steve Yzerman all grew up playing soccer, the US would be a powerhouse.

You can play what the hell you want from wherever you are. Footy is Brazil's national sport, and that's all there is to it.

BDM, are you saying that athletes from the United States are better simply because they're from the USA?

Didn't the USA lose to Puerto Rico in basketball, 92–73, in the 2004 Olympics?

The known athletes of the USA are nothing more than hyped up celebrities, with a few exceptions. What would happen if a college (American) football or basketball team took on a 'professional' team in an exhibition match, and won? They would be revealed for the laughingstock they are.

Yes. We have 250 million+ people in the United States. When you consider that elite athletes make up a very small fraction of the world's population, then it stands to reason that an incredibly populated country would have more elite athletes per capita. Don't ask me why China or India don't have more world-class atheltes, 'cause they should.

Don't remember, but I do know we only "won" bronze. Why? Because Team USA wasn't a "team" at all, it was a collection of so-called "superstars". I guarantee you that if Team USA was made up of the entire San Antonio Spurs, or Detroit Lakers, they would've blown everyone away. Because they'd be used to playing as a team.

Never happen. The BEST college football, baseball or basketball team would get blown out by the worst team in any league.

They don't have the economic opportunity, or the diversity of internationally-recognized sports.

That makes sense.

I'll get back to you on that.
