Got an interview tomorrow

Got tired of being passed over for higher paid jobs where I work, so going to try and do the same job somewhere else for more money. Not had an interview in years, hope I'm not too rusty.

I have a sneaking suspicion I was the only applicant, but I have no problem winning by default.

Still... They could've sent you a letter, stating that they decided not to fill the position. How would that be for a kick in the balls? "Thanks, but we think we'd be better off just making do than hiring you."

That pretty much happened where I am now, they created a band five job, me and the other fours went for it, got shortlisted, and the day before the interview they cancelled it and said the post wasn't needed any more.

Sudden plot twist, my old job has created a band 5 here, and highly recommended I apply for it, if I get that one I could potentially ask for more money to stay where I am.
