I want to smell dark matter
(Eggs, Tomtrek, Wacky, Dr_Dave and Mirah are sitting around the Mine Field, spamming, playing Plants Vs. Zombies in the Arcade and discussing the fact that Mentalist has just returned from a trip to the future.)
Mirah: Take it!
Eggs: Any time, Love Cunt!
Wacky: Four games of PVZ in a row, how does he do it lol?
Eggs: I cheat!
(Tomtrek looks at him, suspicious.)
Eggs: I'm kidding!
Mirah: You know, I was thinking about what Menty told us all about the future. About how we all changed and drifted apart and joined Haven. About how Eggs and Wacky fought to the death over Cassie. Why would he want to tell us what's to come?
Dr_Dave: Sure goes everything we've ever heard about not polluting the timeline, doesn't it? Indeed.
Tomtrek: I believe however this situation is uniqe. Since the anomoly did not occur, there have already been changes in the way we have been posting in this timeline. The future of the Mine Field we experience will no doubt be different from the future Mentalist experienced.
Eggs: Maybe that's why he told us. Knowing what happens in that future allows us to change things now. So that some things never happen.
(He looks over at Wacky.)
Wacky: AGREED!
(Cassie logs in.)
Cassie: Am I too late?
Eggs: Of course not, post up a thread!
Cassie: What's the game?
Tomtrek: Plantz Vs Zombies, endless mode.
(Someone else logs in.)
Eggs: Post!
(It's Menty! Everyone looks around in shock. He's hardly ever seen in the Mine Field.)
Eggs: Is there a problem, sir?
Menty: No...I uhh...I just thought that I might, umm, spam with you this evening. If there's room!
Eggs: Of course, post a thread!
Tomtrek: Would you care to do whatever deal means in the context of Plants Vs Zombies, sir?
Menty: Oh, uhh, thank you, The Tomtrek. Actually, I uhh, I used to be quite the spammer in my youth, you know.
(Menty looks around the Mine Field at all the great threads and all the cool posters and smiles as warm music plays.)
Menty: I should have done this a long time ago.
Cassie: You were always welcome.
Menty: So, Plants Vs Zombies, endless mode, nothing wild...and the sky's the limit.
(Zoom out on everyone happily posting in the Mine Field together.)
