Happy birthday William Shatner (85)

It was Stephen Sondheim's birthday yesterday.

I wonder if he and The Shat secretly meet at Midnight between their birthdays, and speak-sing showtunes together.
 
It's sad because Leonard Nimoy was born just four days later and I always liked posting threads for both of them, but obviously I can't do that this year (Leonard Nimoy is dead.)

Shatner is making the rounds to promote his book about his friendship with Nimoy.

Any idea why the two of then apparently stopped talking. Shatner seems unclear as to why Nimoy stopped talking to him.
 
First I heard that they did? I didn't hear of them appearing together the last few years, but I just put it down to Nimoy retiring from acting and con appearances, while the Shat was super busy with all his projects.
 
Maybe Nimoy only pretended to like him, and knowing he only had a few weeks to live just didn't want to bother with the pretence any more.
 
Or he just didn't want his remarkably fit friend of the same age to see how frail he'd become. Being wheeled around with an oxygen mask isn't a very dignified look. And you can imagine how condescending the Shat might be about it too.
 
In which case, write and perform songs based on a series of currently underappreciated books which will form one or two of the most lucrative trilogies of all time a few decades from now.
