HBO - The bloom is off the rose

I AM A GOLDEN GOD
It used to be you could count on HBO. Sopronos, Deadwood, Carnival, and then Rome and now Big Love - things looked good indeed on HBO.

Then they canceled Carnival. And now, for no sane reason one can think of they are canceling Deadwood.

Just another network that cannot be trusted.

The upcoming third season of HBO's "Deadwood" might mark the end of the dark Western. The pay cable network has opted not to pick up the options of the actors on the show, releasing them to pursue other projects.

Assfuckers.

I burned the entire 1st season of Carnivale... and can't wait to check it. I've heard good good things about Deadwood, and have enjoyed a couple episodes of the Sopranos.

Six Feet Under was a killer boss show, and ranks as one of my all-time fave series.

But, if they're cutting the bloat in order for even better programming, yay! If they're doing it to replace it with shite, fuck 'em.

I don't really care, though; we don't have HBO.

I must admit, I loved Carnivale but only followed it closely the first half-season. Then I just sort of lost it along the way...

I never did watch Deadwood. All I know is that it was an old Western where people swore a lot. And I'm wondering how much of a shelf life Big Love has. Never watched The Wire, or the Rome show.

But I love Sopranos, Six Feet, Sex and the City (it may be a chick show but the writing was impeccably funny), and I love Entourage. But I can't watch Curb Your Enthusiasm. If your lead character is going to be vile and petty and then get shit on in 30 quick minutes, the humor better be obvious a la AbFab. The semi-improvised feel of things makes it all more awkward then funny, like a weak Woody Allen flick. Same reason I didn't drink the Seinfeld koolaid...the meanness of the characters outweighed the belly laughs for me.

Carnivale was interesting...for about two hours. Then it just got dull and repetative. Never watched Deadwood, and I probably won't now. Big Love didn't appeal to me; I shut it off after about 10 minutes. Never got into Six Feet Under or Sex and the City.

I used to watch Sopranos, but I pretty much boycotted the show after they made their viewers wait like THREE FUCKING YEARS between seasons. That's not right.

Entourage...now there is a show that's worth the $12 a month. Seriously, it's the only reason I still have HBO, and I'll prolly just cancel it because I can get 'em on BT now.

Oh, and Rome sucked balls, too.
