The age of consent was not always what it is now in most states in th union. It has always been arbitrariliy set state by state according to the whims of the people. That age has risen considerably in most states in the last 150 years or so. Most of you probably have grandparents or great grandparents that would have been considered pedofiles by the laws of today. Does that make them to be bad people retroactively? I have my doubts.

Most people reach sexual maturity at about 13. That is their body and mother nature saying that they are fit to reproduce. Does man know better or are we just deluding themselves in that regard?

I personally think 18 is a reasonable age for consent and I find nothing exciting about the young end of that teenage spectrum, but those are my opinions and they are admittedly influenced by the society in which I have grown up... Canada and some states in the union have the age of consent set at 14 years old. Are these people all pedophiles because they don't agree with the changes that have been made in the majority of other states over the years?

The current age of consent is set arbitrarily and bears little or no relationship to actual maturity physically or mentally. Anyone can pick a number out of the air and get it passed as law, but that hardly makes that the morally correct number. So what's the age of consent where you live and what are your thoughts on all this?

Apparently I have been branded a pedophile in some corners of the web for living with a twenty year old, so the flexibility seems to stretch past the age of consent in cases in which people want slander or are just plain jealous...

That's all well and good, and if I didn't have a good woman, I'd certainly live with a 20 year old too.

But the redirection of attack to me is a big tip off that there's something he doesn't want discussed.

Well, the guy pretty much tipped his hand. I don't know what happened over in England, but when the woman you just married suddenly calls the police on you, gets a restraining order to keep you from her and her teen daughter, then you disappear for a long time, I'm calling it kiddie fiddling.

That or she caught him fucking a sheep. But that's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.

Well, this was in Britain... where any sort of sensible violence is banned, but football hooligans are allowed to wreak mayhem at will... so you can see her problem.
