Hey Jack, Talking Concerts thread?

Donovan

beer, I want beer
Wondered if you wanted to do a thread where we discuss concerts we are going to, stuff we want to see, shit that disappointed, etc. I've been doing a lot of that sort of thing and thought it might be fun to hear what everybody else is looking at. Just a thought...

That would be awesome.

Want to go to this next week. Last time I saw him was in 1969 at Woodstock, but I was just 14 then. Have you read his book?

Heavy Makeup (the warmup) Is Edie Brickell's new project, so that should be interesting.
I am gaining more respect for Hornsby, my gf showed me some of the stuff he did with the Grateful Dead after their keyboardist Brent Midland died. Guy still occasionally plays with the various iterations of what's left of the Dead from time to time and his skillset is a lot deeper than that one song we all knew back in the 80s. Should be a good show

These are the guys I was supposed to see in Asheville tomorrow, obviously not gonna happen but if you or anybody has Nugs.net, they are webcasting a special hurricane relief concert for the town tomorrow night. Don't think it's live, looks like an acoustic set they did at Atlantic city back in August.

15 bucks a month for nugs.net, although there is a 7 day free trial which I may try, just to see the concert.

Actually if you are really into live music Nugs ain't a bad deal. I had it for a while to watch shows I would otherwise miss, and enjoyed it. They have a pretty big archive. Problem is, it's harder to commit 3 hours to a concert you ain't actually attending so I ended up using it as background noise which I can just as easily use any music service for. And cheaper.

well I did register, just havent figured out what I want to do with it yet. I follow a lot of bands, as you see from this forum and my musical tastes sparkle at any given moment so we'll see.

Can't get to tonight's concert after all, Burlington is worse than Stowe as far as traffic and parking and a nice couple agreed to purchase my two seats for me.

Was more interested in the warm up band, but my understanding is Hornsby loves playing live and the Flynn is a really nice stage venue so a good time should be had by all.

Well, just go on Nugs and find Hornsby lol. You can watch from your couch.

I didn't even think of that. BRILLIANT!
So I signed up. That concert isnt listed, and I have to upgrade out of the trial to get that kind of programming. Last Hornsby concert available is november of last year.

But it looks fucking awesome. I spend 15 bucks on a bottle of wine or a cocktail, so no problem
