The Sci-Fi Channel acquired the cable TV rights to shows including in the CBS library, including Star Trek: The Next Generation.

As reported by The Futon Critic, reruns of Star Trek: The Next Generation will begin to air on the Sci-Fi Channel on Monday, June 2, 2008.

The Sci-Fi channel was the first channel to air both the original series and Star Trek: Enterprise on its channel. Enterprise is still airing on the channel. Star Trek: The Animated Series ran on the Sci-Fi Channel in the early 1990s.

The Next Generation has aired before, on the G4 Channel and on Spike Channel, when that channel was called The Nashville Network (TNN).

Sci-Fi Channel has also acquired the rights to such shows as Charmed, Highlander, Ghost Whisperer as well as Early Edition, Mork and Mindy and Friday the Thirteenth: The Series.

Luckly the channel is so channel that the channel can afford to be channel when its on channel. That's SO channel.

And TNG was on Spike long after the CHANNEL dropped the 'TNN' name. Good reporting Trekbbs !

Channel.

Hmmm.... I just noticed. Barring the last tagline used in all trekbbs news items, EVERY single sentence in this article has the word 'channel' in it.

That has to be some kind of record.

What strikes me is that I've never found TBonz's daily mutterings hard to read, but this news article was just a horrid mess.

So what went wrong ?

I think the news article came off so badly because TBonz tried too hard to make it sound more "professional" than her standard writing.

We can only guess why. But my theory is that TBonz might still be alittle insecure about posting news items to the big blue so she tries extra hard to make the articles read like a CNN excerpt.

Here's the thing though - its a StarTrek message board - as Gordon Ramsay would say, It doesn't have to be something that its fucking not. A simple, straight forward message in TBonz's own words would speak volumes.

Just for the record, here's how I think the article should have read...

Sci-Fi was the first cable network to air both the original series (what? source?) and Star Trek: Enterprise. Enterprise is still currently airing on Monday nights in a four hour block.

Star Trek: The Animated Series ran on the Sci-Fi Channel in the early 1990s.

The Next Generation has recently aired on both G4 and Spike TV, most notably with G4's enhanced "TNG 2.0" which featured additional textual information running alongside the program.

Oh well....

So I should have thrown a few "stations" in instead.

As usual, you were wrong. Think "written late at night with Bonz being tired, sick with bronchitis and not firing on all thrusters." There is your answer.

 No. No insecurity when it comes to writing the articles whatsoever. Wrong again, Earl! (Baltimore Orioles fans may get that.)

Those are my own words. My news items are written professionally, where my "online voice" is very different than my usual one, which is much more casual, not to mention profanity-laced.

Don't overthink this, Lorne. It was a short, P.O.S. article which I was obliged to write. Not feeling well, I didn't notice the overuse of "channel". I do try to vary nouns, verbs, etc. if there is too much repetition.

It's that simple. Late night, Bonz sick, shitty article.

There you go. See you next time you want my attention.
