His girlfriend had a status that was all like, "OMG TWILIGHT WAS AMAZINGG11!!1!1!!1!" I, of course, rather subduedly noted that, "I most assuredly doubt that." Later on last night, I got a barrage of texts from Hummus using abusive language and saying that I made her cry. Now he's deleted me. :S:

From an impartial perspective, am I just crazy?

Is she not entitled to her own opinions? I acted on my own. I wasn't being a lapdog. Aren't you so kool Dual to post this on teh interwebs? You need to learn to respect people's opinions.

He was. He was repyling with his own opinion. Which you subsequently judged him on.

Maybe you meant, you can have your own opinion, so long as it's the same as my girlfriend's, because I won't get a shag tonight otherwise. Spineless little turd.

Twilight sucks, but it does serve to prove one thing: Any hack can make it as an author.

My girlfriend doesn't like Twilight. She thinks it's terrible. I should also mention that she likes vampire stories and has read the entire Anne Rice series.

Dual, you're not crazy. Twilight fans are so fanatical and devoted about their books that they can't stand any negative opinion of them.

What's sad is that we've gotten to a point in society that these mediocre, tweeny, romance novels (that's what they are folks, deal) have become mainstream and accepted. I blame Harry Potter.
 
yup spot on conch, seiously I had this arguement with my missus, then I made her watch buffy and the whole angel/angelus saga , just to show her that the whole normal./tormented vampire love circle has been done before and better, I only see twilight as a rehash of old buffy episodes for new teenagers, and im seeing it tuesday boo!
