I just got around to seeing Serenity today

Yeah, it's good, despite Kaylee and Simon being annoying and Inara not being in it enough and Mal mumbling half his lines. The black guy steals the movie, IMMHO.
 
^I think Kaylee & Simon had to be annoying because JW wanted to make sure that those who'd never seen Firefly knew there was sexual tension going on.

Although I liked when Kaylee was going on about nothing except batteries being between her legs and Mal freaking out.

And yeah, the black guy really was great.
 
I'm with CKLT on this one. (I just watched it last night, but had the baby barf on me so I didn't get in the posting mood.)

I can totally see why some people love it, and other people don't really care for it.

On the whole though, it was better than I had expected.
 
I will be buying the DVD either today if I can get it at a decent price, or buying it online, it will be nice to see it without the "annoying missing a bit because of a desperate need for a pee" aspect of going to pictures.
 
Firefly seems to be one of them love em/hate em type of shows. either you dig the fake western scifi angle, or you wanna bury it deeper than yer least favorite aunt.
 
It is...I completely missed Firefly when it first aired, which I guess was probably for the best. I only got around to watching the show last summer, and it works pretty well in the production order (DVD set). I probably would have been horribly confused the way FOX chose to air it originally.

I'm not a huge fan of the show by any means, but it's good, and it's different.
