Unluckiest Charm in the Box
There is a man out in front of our Downtown building. A very young man that looks to be in his early 20's. The man appears to be homeless, dressed in dirty rags, had no shoes on, and....

HE IS ASIAN :eek:

That Sir.. strikes me to be impossible. Asians and ALWAYS taken care of their own.

Seeing that they do better in school here in the US than anyone else (including causasians), they commit fewer crimes and have more family businesses than any other minority in the country, how can it be that one of their own could end up living on the streets apparently disowned and abandoned?

How the hell could this have happened? :eek:

That's because he's not REALLY homeless. Charlie just wants you to THINK he's homeless. Then he'll wait until your back is turned and cut your throat. Is that what you want? Better keep your eyes peeled and your guard up!
 
I went back downstairs and gave him a few dollars. When he said thank you, he had no accent whatsoever. From that I'm almost sure that he was born and raised here. I had to bite my toungue till it almost bled to stop from asking, but I wanted to know so badly what happened to him and how he wound up out on the streets like that. Where was his family, and what happened with him where none of the other asians would be willing to help him out? :eek:
 
I was just kidding. You are correct. It is a strange thing to see an Asian on the street. I would be curiuos too. I would agree with your statement of acedemics, perhaps they try harder, study harder. I never like to lump people into one group anyway because there are always exceptions.

I would be curiuos to know statistics about Asians comitting crime in any city in the US.
 
I went out looking for him today, and did not see him anywhere. He only tends to show up every few weeks or so...
 
Well it's not like he was a Jewish homeless person. Now THERE's a sight.

Anyway you should have asked that guy if he wanted work on the railroad line or anything.
 
It is true that Asians tend to take care of their own better than any other group of people. However, they do have criminals. Do you not remember Jet Li in Lethal Weapon?
 
I am sure that do indeed have criminals, but usually when they have problems like that, they will very quiety take care of it themselves while making every attempt to keep it out of view of the public eye!

There used to be an old saying that went "You will never see an Asian on Jerry Springer". What was meant by that is that they tend to have a very strong reputation of keeping their business (and problems) to themselves. They seem to be very reluctent to ask outsiders for anything, while at the same time tend to be very self-proficient.

Since I started this post, I haven't seen him anymore. I've seen him a few times earlier, and the day I started this post was the first time I had ever made contact with him, but since then he seems to have disappeared. :eek:

I wonder what happened to him!
