I Learned a Very Good Lesson this Past Weekend

Unluckiest Charm in the Box
Pulling off of an Asphalt Road onto hard mud....not good! :mmph:

Went riding around the suburbs exploring new territory, and found myself riding alongside a beautiful lake that I never knew was there. I was like "WOW" I got to check this out"

Riding about 45 mph, I decided to pull off the road so I can stop and get a better look. Only thing is that the area off on the side of the road, was all hard mud

Well... after getting up off the ground and inspecting my bike, I saw gas leaking from the tank somewhere, but strangely when I got it back upright again the leaking stopped. I looked everywhere and could not see where this gas was coming from. My foot got trapped under the bike and was a little twisted at the ankle, but nothing I couldn't shake off.

Moral of this story: Bikes are NOT like cars. Unless you are riding a dirtbike, when you try and pull over, make sure you do it on concrete or hard aspahlt!

another good lesson on country roads is beware of chickens. They get confused easily and will dart out in front of you.

And there you have it - More valuable advice from Homo Erectus -

Watch out for confused chickens.

If the tank was more than half full, it was probably just spilling out of the filler flap. Or, since that would have been too obvious not to notice, it came from the tube connecting the tank with the carburetor, most probably at the fuel tap. Either way, no reason to worry.
