Describe your intentions for TK. Would you reinvigorate the Troll aspect? Lead invasions? Daycare the entire Minefield for being elitist snobs who talk about sex and ducks? Demand that Missmanners return?
Spill it, rodent!
I doubt I'd change much. I've been largely in charge before. I'd play with technical stuff, but definitely make a more serious effort to not disrupt the board by doing so.
The only major change I'd make (after discussion with all staff and a chance for board members to chime in) might be a switch to XenForo.
XenForo was created by the same people that created vBulletin. They left in mass after the company was bought by Internet Brands and made a lot of shady decisions like a %200 price increase, and intentional incompatibility in new versions (people couldn't upgrade without paying more).
XenForo (http://xenforo.com/community/) is pretty slick, and because it's the same folks as the original vBulletin we can trust it (we've been using their software for ten years).
The other issue is, vBulletin has actively started to not support older versions - meaning, security vulnerabilities that are found in this version will not be patched - and unless we've got a few hundred dollars laying around we can't upgrade.
Most, if not all of what I want to do is technical. TK has always been extremely hands off, and I'd keep it that way.
I have no idea if it is or not. But, the software needs an expensive upgrade, and other things have been done and said to indicated there might be some financial stress. I have a special place in my heart for this place, even if it doesn't have one for me lol.
I am not interested in selling TK. It can sometimes be a financial burden on me, that's true. But that will most likely change once I actually move back to the UK (which is costing me a fricking fortune) just after Christmas and am back in gainful employment once more. I'm emigrating YET AGAIN and it's been a long and drawn out affair that has cost huge amounts of time and money. That said I am still dedicated to TK despite being unable to dedicate much actual time to it.
As for your ideas for the board and the future of it -- Well, that's something different entirely. *IF* you are still interested in a return to TK's engine room then drop me a PM.
