Me, Cock, and DarthSikle all live in the Philly area.
Oh believe me, whenever and however I will manage to come to the US, the Philly area will definitely be a stop on my tour for exactly that reason.
If you're going to go for gardens, definitely go for NYC + Boston. If you're an Olmsted fan, you can't miss Central Park and the Emerald Necklace, and Mount Auburn, the first garden cemetery in the country, is really beautiful, too.
I probably won't be around in a few years or whenever, but MSN me when you do and I can hook you up with all the cool places to smoke and great views of the city at night. If you come in November, you might even get to head up on top of Peter's Hill and catch the Leonids behind one of the best views of the city out there.
I love the Central Park, been there two times (which isn't nearly enough), and I am having fond memories of that place. Prospect Park I haven't had the opportunity to see, yet, but I plan on returning to NYC some day, anyway, and PP is on my list of must-see places for sure. Olmsted created incredible landscapes, the Emeral Necklace is very, very tempting, too. As is Mt. Auburn, which I've just googled. ~sigh, so many places, and not enough time!
Ah, I'll have to make sure I'm visiting at a time you're still there, then
Either way, I'll definitely pump you for information if my tour takes me to Boston, thanks for the offer!
Thats not fair! When I e-mailed begging.......nevermind!
LOL, starguard, that was 3 years ago, at another mb... back then, I didn't even know trolls had feelings, too!
